This publication celebrates the Farnsworth Art Museum's holdings of works by N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth and proudly acknowledges the museum's long association with this first family of American art. Even before the museum opened its doors in August 1948, it had already acquired several works by the then little-known Andrew Wyeth. Virtually every year since its opening, the museum has highlighted works by Andy, who had such a strong connection to Maine like his father N.C. and his son Jamie. The subsequent expansions of the museum, including the Wyeth Center, Wyeth Research Center, Wyeth Study Center and the Olson House have given the museum and its national audience unparalleled opportunities not only to experience the Wyeth's art, but also the very places in which it was created. This book proudly celebrates those holdings.
