This special edition of 25 plus artist proofs is an aquatint print printed on Somerset velvet, white, 300 gram archival paper. The ink is made of Charbonnel transparent white and GamblinÆs Portland cool black. The print size is 25" high by 27.5" wide. Each of the prints has been personally signed by Alex.

The canoe in the pond is a recurrent image in AlexÆs works. In the case of this print, Alex relates that one day last summer the pond in Lincolnville, Maine was misty when his son Vincent and grandson Isaac Katz were fishing that afternoon, making the details of the scene disappear. The hazy scene was very attractive to Alex, and he did a large painting of it that is included in the museumÆs Alex Katz: New Work show, and then made this print of the same subject.
